The 5 Best Pick Up Drinks

So first things first I’d like to start off by saying that the etiquette of buying drinks for people in bars and restaurants has changed drastically because of date rape drugs. So as a disclaimer, please remember that you never have to take or offer a drink, and that ultimately the decision is yours to make. So please make it wisely.
With that said here is my view of the two paths to take when dealing with “Pick Me Up” drinks. Path number one is if you are in a restaurant or lounge you can send a drink or buy one with no real fear because the "Buyer" never touches the glass. But in a club if a guy/girl asks you if you want something to drink and then goes off, it’s kind of awkward and not really smart.
So note to self: At a bar make sure you ask “Can I buy you a drunk?” and then lead him/her to the bar. Buy together. Plus it gives you a chance to add a shooter and to show your great tipping skills (cause you always do).
5 Best Bar Pick Up Drinks
- Vodka Red Bull Double Tall (The double tall is important, it’s harder to suck back fast and gives you a bit more time with the person)
- Yager Bomb (Getting down to it, nice call, might be closer to the end of the night)
- Bottle Beer (Imported) this one comes with a side bar: If they chose Corona, ask them if they’d like a Cuervo shot
- Vodka/7-Up (Don’t forget the Double Tall part)
- Mandarin Vodka/Soda (Ladies like to drink too, but they also are calorie minded)
5 Best Restaurant/Lounge Send Over Drinks
- Van Gogh Espresso Martini (Not to steal from the limited vocabulary of Paris Hilton, but “that’s hot”)
- Lemon Drop Martini(Every new lounge or bar has a new improved version of this timely classic)
- Classic Champagne(Make sure you read the bar list provided, there are always different grades of Champagne)
- Glass of Red or White Whine (Please be aware of the type of wine she’s having, so if you go over and talk with her, you could mention how great her choice was as a conversation starter.
- This is for the smooth operators only.....send over a bottle of sparkling or still water and walk up while it’s being served and say “just wanted you to have something while you decided” it’s a great opener....it’s thoughtful...we think you care!
