Winter Music Conference Guide

Written by Pamela Diaz
Winter Music Conference MiamiSo here is an easy 10 step guide to follow before you make all the travel plans and credit card purchases you are going to have to make.

IMPORTANT MONEY SAVING REGISTRATION INFORMATION
As of right now the first week of February, there are less than two weeks left to save money on the registration fees. The save money part is 15%, which means quite a bit if you are budgeting so take advantage.

STEP 1: KNOW THE DATES AND BOOK TIME OFF

For starters you have to make sure you have enough days for the conference and for sightseeing, especially if you’ve never been to Miami. The city of Miami is made up of jewelled pockets of fun; it just depends on what it is you are looking for.

  • Make sure you read all the necessary site provisions on the Conference.
  • There are some really great Panels and Events that you’ll need to sign up for in advance
  • Peruse the Event Schedule list, Parties and Networking Events
So please make sure that you check your calendar and choose the right amount of days.  Just in case you don’t have the right calendar handy here are the dates.

Starting Date: March 25th 2008 (That is a Tuesday for those of you who are like me)
Ending Dates: March 29th 2008 (And that would be a Saturday for those who can’t count)

The historic factor mixed in with the South American flavour of the food and language makes for one of the best experiences you will ever have. All that as a back drop to an amazing conference filled with people who are all on the same page. Thousands of people flood to this city with the same intension, to live life, to have fun, to feel and be the music, how much better can it get.

STEP 2: KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING

There is nothing like a stupid tourist, trust me, I’ve never been one, but I’ve seen many.  So let’s start off with a little history lesson, so we don’t all feel like morons when we visit another country, even if that country is The United States of America. So for those of you who don’t know, Miami is a city in the State of Florida, which is the most Southern, Eastern state in the USA.

  • If you are on a budget, please visit that very beautiful architectural designed taxpayer paid building called the Library. And no, a library card doesn’t cost money, and neither does the taking out of books. Many current selections...you get the idea.
  • Time Out Miami Guide

As of 2005, the United Nations estimates that the Miami Urban Agglomeration is the fourth largest in the world. Miami’s importance as an international financial and cultural center has elevated Miami to the status of World City. Because of Miami’s cultural and linguistic ties to North, South, and Central America, as well as the Caribbean, Miami is many times referred to as “The Gateway of the America’s”.

So please invest in at least one travel guide book, I have many suggestions, which will be listed in the next step. Know that you have the dates set out and you know where you are going and you have travel book/guide in hand you can move onto step number 3.
