Winter Music Conference Guide Steps 7 and 8

STEP 7 DON’T LEAVE MIAMI WITHOUT GOING TO LITTLE HAVANA
Winter Music Conference Miami

Let’s talk a little about Miami, well not a little, a lot. There is so much to say about that great amazing city. As I mentioned before, you have to have a rental vehicle to get around this fab city. With its tropical backdrop you may want to start your sightseeing with South Beach. Which should bring you to the Art Deco District where there is a walking tour you can take called The Miami Design Preservation League www.mdpl.org all information on this site.

You are going to want to take this tour if you have the time, but if not; you can walk yourself and then plant your butt at one of the cafes they have there. If you are into people watching, there is no where better than here.

  • Since you are throwing down a wad of cash for this trip don’t be pushed by me or anyone else  that makes you feel like you have to go to go every event while you are there.
  • Just remember that all you need is a few hours away from the Conference and head your way to Little Havana and you’ll feel transposed and rejuvenated.
  • Yet again grab a copy of the  Miami Time Out Guide for other suggestions of places to visit.
  • The top picturesque places of Miami are Key Biscayne (not to be missed), Upper East Side,   Miami Sea Aquarium, Parrot Jungle and Biltmore Hotel (stunningly beautiful yet haunted hotel which was used in the Bad Boys Movie)
Don’t leave Miami without visiting Little Havana, or Calle Ocho which is Southwest 8th Street. Basically, have you ever seen a really amazing movie and they show you Miami filled with Latin American people, wearing white short sleeved shirts eating a toasted pork sandwich and you wished you were there...well that’s it. So visit this famous destination or you will regret that part of your trip.

After a Café Cubano and a Media Noche (toasted pork, ham, cheese, pickle and mustard sandwich) at one of Little Havana’s bodegas, make your way to the Spanish Mediterranean enclave known as Coral Gables or for you tourist’s “City Beautiful”. If you love Mediterranean style mansions, upscale shops, fancy restaurants and haunted hotels, then this is the place for you.

The Miami list is plentiful when it comes to where to go and what to see, I could make a fancy assed list of where I think you should be seen, but I think not. I don’t know if you want to roll high like the Sean Puffy P Diddy Mac Daddy (what do they call him now?) or the Justin Timberlake’s, or if you want to mellow it out with some surf and food, take in some sun, go the Conference and throw down where you can.

All in all, this entire trip is yours and you know what you like. So hit up these great sites (listed in side panel to the right) and find what Miami has in store for you.

STEP 8 THE BOTTOM LINE

So now that you’ve got a good perspective on what and where to go, how to sign up and all that other shit. You need to start thinking about the Conference in real detail.

The WMC is going on its 23rd year, pretty impressive if I do say so myself. Every aspect of the industry is represented including the top technological innovators, artists, DJs, producers, radio and video programmers, retailers, distributors, audio manufacturers and many more.

The level of exposure WMC provides for artists and DJs is invaluable. WMC offers endless opportunities for DJs and artists to network and have their music heard by an international audience of music industry professionals.

So the Winter Music Conference has established itself as the premier Music Conference for the world. WMC showcases the top international talent, the newest technological developments and celebrates cultural art form, which transcends international barriers as the most universally accessible and influential form of popular entertainment.

(I didn’t write the last few sentences, I stole it from the site because it sounded really great, but was a little too wordy and pompous for me, but added it in because I thought it made some sort of sense).

So let’s revert back to why I think you should go to the Conference at all.
