The Gooch is a deep jackin Chicago house set by Timmy Shane. It’s deep roots gradually grow progressively throughout the set to ignite a feeling you may not be able to shake off for days. But perhaps that’s what Timmy Shane’s intentions were in the first place? That we’ll never know!

Oh Oh! You may not be prepared for the pumping jack house style of this set Just Do It by Mykee but wake up and get your sneakers out for the dance floor. Intro with a multiple layer track including the classic I’ll House You by Jungle Brothers and Dizee Rascals Flex and Stand Up Tall this has got to be one of funkiest adrenalyn pumpin intros we’ve heard in a while. The bass keeps pumpin out right up until Djuma Soundsystems Les DJinns whose eclectic sound may fool you for a second. So many good things to say about the following tracks but one essence that is omniscient in Just Do It is the funked out basslines. Mykee you just upped the level to strive for by several notches for all dj’s on our site!

Originating from Sheffield UK and now sweeping the entire content Bassline House (or Niche names after the Sheffield club) is a urban genre taking over where Garage left off. Currently underground it is creating quite a bit of buzz because it’s ability to please a large demographic (probably due to its popish flavour). Personally I see this genre as something that would be tons of fun to shake booty to in a club, but I’m not sure I could take a whole night of it. It’ll be good to see how this sound evolves and if it will make a dent in the current electro trend happening around the world.


What’s your take? Think it would be good for the dancefloors?

Envy My Music made a repeat visit to Vancouver to shake things up again in Vancouver. Envy My Music started in a club called Cocoon in Germany and since launch in 2005, it has become the hottest place to be in Franfurt on a Saturday night. In every single corner of the club, it’s hard not to look at meet extravagant acrobats and costumed hotties. Every single one of your senses is stimulated at the same time and that is what makes a night at Envy My Music.

In essence, the concept behind Envy My Music is exactly what Vancouver needs to take this city to the next level in going out at night. Over the past few years promoters in this city haven’t really taken it stimulates us in any different way when going out to a club. What has happened in consequence are a lot of people in their late twenties/thirties staying home or going to see movies. Blasé, Blasé - I Say!

“Let Go” is the second single off of Paul van Dyk’s artist album In Between and features the vocals of Rea Garvey. Directed by MTV VMA winning director Shane Drake it is definitely different from other Paul Van Dyks releases. It is kind of U2 sounding and more of a soft rock sound, I would have liked it better if PVD gave it more of an electronic twist, but the video is pretty high end. So what do you think? It appears that each track grows out of the next like an electric circuit giving life to artificial intelligence. DJ Moodfood sets out on a clearly successful first mix set of break beats in the compilation entitled Cold Hearted Breaks. Tip toing on the line of drum and bass the intro track Rockerz Dub inflicts a sound wave that some may see as a bit on the dark side! Progression of electro rock sounds culminates with a hip-hop flavour in Only You Boot. Strong beats and fluid vocals will shake any dancefloor.
