Sasha and Digweed Tour

The incredible duo are back and touring North America in big sweep. Masters of the incredible and essential Northern Exposure series are back in the swing of things starting from the Winter Music Conference in Miami and ending up at Coachella festival in California. This is the first time they have toured together since 6 years ago and now they are sporting a whole new sound involving a more progressive electro house sound.

Sasha and John Digweed are truly bringing their sonic experience back to the people, and this tour offers something for every one of their fans. The tour will make stops at legendary rock venues such as the Warfield in San Francisco and Webster Hall in NYC. In addition, many of the shows are 18+ and some are even all ages. And because many of these events are taking place in traditional rock venues their shows may start at 9 and end at 2, as opposed to a traditional club night which starts at 2am and ends at 6am.

A funky ass mix Too Weird To Live Too Rare To Die from Spencer Thomas will definitely get your adrenaline flowing with Luis Paris vs. Adamski’s One of the People. And from there it only gets better with funked out elected beats particularly striking a sweet chord with TurboFunk’s Gotta Move. And just when you don’t expect it the breaks version of Good Time by Horny United….well you might just want to take your clothes off for this track!

DJ Spencer Thomas: “Mix was a lil outa my niche of funky house but i threw the disco flavor in with the electro…just a quick mix.”

In our deep exploration of electronic music events around the world, one scene that has a continued and strong support for house music is the gay circuit party scene. However, the Winter Pride Festival in Whistler BC breaks out of the mould of being strictly about partying and adds an assortment of extravaganza’s including skiing/snowboard at the number one ski destination of the world - Whistler BC.

Winter Pride Whistler BC

In fact, Whistler BC opens it’s arms to celebrating Winter Pride by hosting events throughout the high class village full of 5 star resorts for a full week which went from February 3-10 2008. Some of the highlights included:

· Debra DiGiovanni (from Last Coming Standing) performing at Comedy night

· Soo Valley Dogsled Tour teaching you the basics of driving your own sled by a team of Alaskin racing Huskies

· Skin Care seminars to teach you how to repair, prevent and protect your skin

· WinterPride Banquet which featured a performance by Cirque Du Soleil

· Mountain guided skiing/snowboarding on Blackcomb and Whistler

· Health and Wellness Seminars

But that’s not all! Two of the biggest parties included the Mountaintop Dance and Snowball all night party.

The Mountaintop Dance is an out of this world experience; you don’t get a chance to do this very often at all. Here’s why…you have to take a Gondola (exclusively kept open at night for this event) which takes you 7000ft up Whistler Mountain to party at the panoramic Roundhouse lodge with headlining DJ John Miller from Atlanta. Quite a surreal experience partying with over 1000 other people in a desolate lodge surrounded by several meters of snow!

Winter Music Conference MiamiDo you know what the Winter Music Conference for the electronic music industry is about yet? It is staged in the beautiful and sunny Miami Beach Resort and Spa in Florida just 12 miles from the Miami airport. It has been running for 23 years now and expects 45,000 people during the week conference from March 25-29, 2008.

Not only is the Winter Music Conference a convention for pros in the industry but it has been known to give a major boost to fresh artists, DJ’s and other dance music professionals allowing them to reach great heights. It is where major deals begin and if you think the electronic music industry is small, you are gravely mistaken!

Fact: the Winter Music Conference mailing list is 140,000 people strong!

Fact: there are 400 separate events to chose from during the week all culminating into the Ultra Music Festival (in it’s 10th year) and expects to have close to 40,000 party people and the most sought after artists performing including Tiesto, Justice, David Guetta, Fedde Le Grand, Paul Van Dyk, and over 200 more. More info on the Ultra Music Festival.

Fact: Over 700 journalists from the International Press covering events in Miami during the conference!

Fact: Over 85 venues presenting events in Miami during WMC

Fact: Over 35 seminars and workshops covering all aspects of music development and the surrounding sub-culture (an invaluable resource)

So just looking at these few facts, you can begin to see that this is the most important conference you could ever attend if you want to be a successful artist/producer/record company in the electronic industry. And not only that but the current music industry is in a complete redevelopment and metamorphosis as CDR’s, MP3’s and download streams are forever changing the way people interact with this music…if you haven’t heard Vinyl is DEAD! Sad but true and yes, it’s time to move on…

Some other great points about the Winter Music Conference:
