Ibiza Space 2008

If you haven’t heard yet, the nightlife in Ibiza is going to be changing quite drastically this year. With attendance in the past several years being on the down slope, Ibiza restaurants, hotels, clubs and anything else that catered to an all night, morning and next day welcoming of party people is getting a major wake up call with a new legislation shutting down Ibiza’s 24hr party lifestyle. The Ibiza town people have apparently had enough and want to have peace and quiet from 6am to 4pm.

The clubs can do nothing but obey, however they aren’t just giving up and going with the flow. In fact, their plan of attack has been quite intelligent as they know there is no shortage of people who would be willing to party earlier if they could. Thus, Ibiza 2008 will be seeing the biggest DJ talent it has arguably ever had. Here are some of the highlights: Read the rest of this entry »

Electro House Music Set - Summer Nights 2 by DJ Seta

Listen – Go get Adobe Flash Player!
Download – www.thefreshpage.com/djseta/music/summernightspartii

DJ Seta returns with Summer Nights Part II – a continuation to his ultra popular summer warm up last year. Starting off with R.I.O.’s Shine On you’re already picturing yourself at the beach with a beer at hand. But Seta doesn’t hold back for long, he catapults you into a Billie Jean remix which urges a feeling of wanting to party it up on a distant beach with thousands of others catching the sunset. Just for a little more something Seta also blends layers of other familiar tracks as he serves up something different on a platter such as Erick Decks’ electro mash up of Bartender. And none of this Read the rest of this entry »

Booka Shade The Sun and The Neon Light

Two years removed from their last album, Movements, Booka Shade’s back. Hopefully you’ll recognize them.

With fourteen new tracks on The Sun & The Neon Light, Arno and Walter have given themselves a good hour to reintroduce themselves to the House music audience of the world. Having listened to the album a few times now, I have to say it was time well-spent. With the massive success that the last album brought them (with winners like Body Language and Mandarine Girl), Booka Shade could have stayed with the “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” philosophy, but then, they wouldn’t be Booka Shade. Lisa Shaw and Miguel Migs Petalpusher

Last night in Vancouver, Lisa Shaw and Miguel Migs came into town to bring something new (and perhaps something old) to the house music scene. Petalpusher consists of the 8 piece band with Miguel Migs on electric guitar, along with Lisa Shaw and Tim Fuller singing their hearts out. In fact, Petalpusher has been around for quite some time originating from the roots of Miguel Migs musical background, but in an era when electronic music meets live band (take Justice, Booka Shade and Trentemoller as examples) it’s time to push the scene to new levels. No longer is it enough to be a DJ who can just remix others tracks, don’t you agree that now a days the audience wants something more? Read the rest of this entry »
