As rare as flawless gems, booty with brains and defrosting filet mignon, it is not often that a band breaks out with a powerful sound deserving of an entirely new genre. That is exactly the case, however, with Boston five-piece collective BAD RABBITS and their debut offering, Stick Up Kids EP, where funk-charged bass hold hands with electric falsetto while gripped in a bear hug of energy not heard since early 1980s salad days of hardcore punk.
Dubbed “New Crack Swing,” the wonderfully addictive and truly original Stick Up Kids EP find the BAD RABBITS band cohesively bringing R&B, rock & roll, soul and funk together for an epic house party soundtrack that jams from start to end, without parents, cops or empty keg cups in sight.

Chus & Ceballos are known throughout the club world as one of the most exciting, dazzling DJ/production duos. With their excellent production works, their coveted remixes, and their marathon DJ sets, they capture the genuine Iberican sound; a perfect marriage of House and Techno whose common factor is the unmistakable beat of the percussion. You might want to shake it out before you get into this electro house mix by M-Erson as his “Universal Mind Control” is to mess with ya…but mess with you in a good way…you know the way that music makes you feel sometimes! Oh yeah and “Everything Bad is Good For You” well that’s the way the mix starts anyway and truth be told we like it BAD, especially when it’s mixed this way!
The climax comes early with the funked out beats of “Universal Mind Control” by Common…so good it gets between your teeth and keeps you smiling like a bitch at a party who takes up all that space with her ass shaking.
You’re going to like the remainder of this journey there’s a lot of “Drop the Bomb” and “Dirty Sexxx” playing with the synths and prepping something a little dirtier..the killer mix of “Next Episode Booleg” of Snoo and Dre.
Shake that Thing with M-Erson’s Universal Mind Control…
BALANCE 016: AGORIA Release Electro House Music
U.S. Release Date: March 16, 2010
After raising the bar to unprecedented heights in 2009 with Joris Voorn and Will Saul’s stunning additions to the series, EQ Recordings’ Balance series returns for the new decade with yet another standard-setting mix from one of the most sophisticated and inspiring names in techno, frenchman – Agoria.
The man otherwise known as Sebastien Devaud wasn’t bitten by the dance music bug until he was out of his teens, but once he began hunting imported 12”s from the US and Germany in his native France, there was no turning back. His production career began in 1999, with his debut album Blossom and first compilation following in 2003 – and it was clear even in those early days that a serious new talent was emerging. Blending the throb and groove of deeper, stripped-back techno with a keen sense of musicality, emotion and atmosphere, his is a sound that transcends beyond mere dancefloor disposability.
As heard in recent DJ sets from the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Ellen Allien, Laurent Garnier, Paolo Mojo, Radio Slave, Seth Troxler, Slam and many more.
Satoshi Tomiie plays an integral part in one of dance music’s biggest legacies. A top DJ, producer and owner of Saw Recordings, Tomiie is also a member (along with David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Hector Romero and GM, Judy Weinstein) of the legendary Def Mix crew. Those in the know can attest to the fact that dance music would simply not be the same without their influence; and through all the ups and downs of the industry, this team always pushes back stronger. The New York City-by-way-of-Tokyo based Tomiie feels particularly inspired these days and drops a techno monster with the release (under the guise of MES) of “Back To Basics.” On the flip, Motorcitysoul adds some Detroit flavor to the mix
“Back To Basics” is about digging deep and searching for the one feeling or moment that inspired your love of music. Do you remember the smile you had on your face when you heard something fresh and new for the first time? Remove all the inhibitions and let loose the way you used to. For Satoshi Tomiie, “Back To Basics” is not about revisiting the past just to create something retro or ironic, but rather, he’s referencing key moments of his musical life to create for the future. No rules, no limits. See it. Hear it. Feel it.
KING BRITT to release new original artist album Intricate Beauty on Nervous Records House Music
RELEASE Date: April 20, 2010
We’ll cut to the chase. Intricate Beauty is the final “conventional” dance album King Britt will ever make. And how fitting this final chapter also marks King’s first ever release on seminal house music label Nervous Records. This is the seal of quality. Don’t worry, though, King Britt’s not going anywhere as an artist. He’ll be concentrating on more experimental based music and searching for new avenues to help push the live electronic improvisational end of performance. But for now, you have a real treat to behold with the Intricate Beauty. Eleven tracks of soulful rhythms constructed and mixed together like a grand jigsaw puzzle. Quintessential King.
Intricate Beauty pulls together the different sounds that have helped shape King’s dance DJ mind over the years. This is the story of what he loves to spin and how it all relates. In a sense, this is all the greatness of King Britt wrapped up under one disc. Like a physical incarnation of the intricate mind, the process of how this album was constructed is quite advanced. King based the album on tiny microsounds he procured from various random recordings and CDs. He then took all these tiny pieces and dumped them into Ableton Live where he sewed the puzzle pieces together. Once there were approximately 50 workable combinations of tracks he then constructed the songs musically. “In a few months I intend to release all the bits and pieces from Intricate Beauty as a “Live Pack.” These will be sounds that people can use for inspiration and production,” King says

After many speculations the word is out, the new single by Rank 1 and Jochen Miller entitled, ‘The Great Escape’, is the official theme song for this year’s edition of enTrance, to be held on March 6 at the Łuczniczka Arena in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
It’s a winning combination; enTrance as Poland’s leading trance event teaming up with two very successful artists. While Rank 1’s songs have been selected many times as theme songs, it’s a first timer for Jochen Miller to deliver a theme for a large scale event such as EnTrance. It’s also the first time Rank 1 and Jochen Miller team up to deliver a theme song together.
