Andy Clockwork – Don’t Stop Believing
“In today’s electro-dominated dance scene, sometimes a remix comes along that reminds us that house is a feeling. Andy Clockwork’s remix of Jouney’s “Don’t Stop Believing” is just such a tune. “I was grabbing a coffee early one morning before the gym”, says Andy, “and the original came on the radio. I’d heard it dozens of times before, but this time the vocal and the piano in the first few bars really hit me. The tempo was right, so I knew I could probably throw a descent little remix together.”

Nostalgia is a dominant theme in this re-work of the 1981 original. Not only is it a quintessential 80’s hit, but the chord progression and the sample from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” really hit the mark as well. When the track breaks down and the vocals from the first verse are slowly filtered in, it’s not uncommon to see – and hear – a good percentage of the people on the dancefloor singing along. “I dropped it during a recent tour in Mexico,” recalls Andy, “and dropped the volume right out during the build. It was cool to hear a couple hundred people singing along.”
