If you take a look at the tracklisting of our new dj mix you’ll see a track called “Intergalactic Move”. This is a special track we did for this years ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event). It includes a sample of “Intergalactic” from the Beastie Boys and features the main bassline from “Reel 2 Real - I Like To Move It”. This is the first time we use this hot track for a dj mix.

In the meantime we’re still really busy in the studio. Currently we’re doing a single in cooperation with “Tommy Trash” from Australia. Furthermore we’re doing some selected remixes for some great artists. And of course we’re really proud to tell you guys that our single “Asteroidz” is signed to “Yoshitoshi Recordings (USA)” and “Onelove (Australia)”. Watch out for some big remixes coming soon!

Listen Now - Club Electro 2

There is no rest for the wicked, as DJ Seta is back already with Club Electro Part II, a mix of some of the hottest Top 40 tracks. It starts with “Return of the Mack,” a re-interpreted R&B track that’s been laced with a classic electro-house vibe – a perfect opening song to get you at ease and set you up for what’s to come. It is followed by that famous addictive retro track – you know, that song from Haddaway that was featured in A Night at the Roxbury – “What is Love” (“baby don’t hurt me, don’t hurt me…”), except Seta has dropped some fresh dancey synths on it.

It then moves straight into hip-hop kings Run DMC vs. Bodyrox, with another retro track, “It’s Like My BodyRox.” The old-school hip-hop plus modern electronic-ness definitely makes for an interesting sound, but we’re brought right into the 21st century with a track that’s been burning up clubs (wonder why?): “I Kissed A Girl,” the Ph Electro Remix by the Real Booty Babes. This basically proves that electronic music really can make an already mind-blowing pop hit even better, as the synths have just upped the dance-ability of this track ten times over.

DJ Seta brings back the hip-hop vibe with Rick Ross’s “Hustlin’,” only Rick Ross now sounds like a defunct robot. There’s a bit of a lull in the action with this track; the beat goes missing for a while and you’re stuck with bare synths, so this might be your cue to take a short break when you’re grooving to this in the club. Don’t sit down for long though, because “Break the Ice” (Doul Power Electro Remix) is bound to get you up again.

The first of two Britney tracks in this mix (and DJ Seta has chosen well – they’re both perfect for the dance floor), what was originally already a heavily synthesized electro-pop is now a true electro house gem, and it gets even better with “Poker Face,” the latest single by Lady Gaga (my new favourite dance-pop/electronica artist). I had high hopes, because this was one of my favourite songs on her album, and I was not disappointed. Like “Break the Ice,” this was already a dance-pop song originally, but the synths on the remix are just gorgeous. I could listen to this one for ages.

As the “A Milli, A Milli…” emerges, the Paul Anthony & ZXX Remix of Lil Wayne’s hit comes full force, but in a creepy weird slowed-down vibe. Not for long though, as DJ Seta speeds things up with hip-hop club anthem, Flo Rida’s “Low.” The song has been dressed up with electro synths, which gives it a very different feel, as opposed to the urban gritty hit that stormed every Top 40 radio station in 2008.

Britney’s second appearance on the mix comes in the form of her new single, “Womanizer.” The Kaskade remix is grittier, more beat-heavy, and the fact that these electro house remixes (of increasingly synthesized pop tracks) just work is a tribute to the DJs’ talent and the potential of the house genre.

The finale, Usher’s “Love in This Club,” has been stripped of its original repetitive synths, and draped with a larger variety of different sounding ones. This especially stands out near the end of the song, where the verse that is originally accompanied by solo piano transforms into Usher-meets-chillout-piano-synths. For those who love Top 40 Pop, Hip-hop, and R&B as much as they do House Music, Club Electro Part II won’t disappoint.

Groove Cruise - Party of a Lifetime!

Well, winter is looming, but imagine…
partying on a cruise with your friends….
and hitting up South Beach and the beautiful Bahamas!

TheFreshPage is stoked to showcase the Miami Groove Cruise, a 4-day, 3-night extravaganza on board the Royal Caribbean’s Majesty of the Seas where for one weekend, Dance Music reigns supreme. You’ll be where the sun is waiting to welcome you, at Miami, the Bahamas, and CocoCay – a private island (seriously, Google this island or something. It’s gorgeous). We’ve teamed up with Whet Travel, who has been owning the party cruise business of late (all events and parties on this cruise are private – you have to book through them) to bring you a cruise with a high concentration of party.

There will be DJs on the decks every night, and never-ending parties:

Groove Cruise party the first night…
A Beach Party and Pool Party on CocoCay that will last the all of the second day…
And for the finale, a party in Nassau (in the Bahamas) with the headlining act in the morning and early afternoon, and an “EPIC Closing Theme Party” where you will literally dance the night away.

If you’re wondering who the headliner is, don’t worry, we’ll let you know. You may be pleasantly surprised to find out that he… is the highest ranked Canadian on DJMag’s just-released Top 100 poll (was that a big enough hint?). This is for real.

Of course, partying everyday is going to take its toll on you, which is why the Majesty of the Seas has everything you’ll need to recover (and detox): day spa, fitness center, yoga classes, and 24-hr room service. To make this the party to start your year off with, your Whet Travel booking includes food and club entry, and Gold Anchor service.

You’ll save $50 / person if you register before November 19th, and you know cruises love large groups, so they’ll have a deal for you if you’re organizing a 10+ group. Grab a bunch of friends, and get ready to enjoy great music and meet some beautiful people! Stay tuned as we introduce the DJs who will be rocking your party…

The Top 10 – DJMag’s Top 100 DJs (2008)

Steady at the Top
Last year’s top dogs, trance superstars Armin van Buuren and Tiësto are still holding down the top two spots on DJMag’s poll. Last year was a big one for Armin, but no one could have predicted that he would top the craziness that was 2007.

This year, the crowds at his concerts have only gotten bigger, and the same can be said for the audience of A State Of Trance. This radio show draws 27 million listeners, and its compilations have yet to disappoint.

Likewise for Tiësto, huge gigs were the norm for 2008, although it shouldn’t be anything new for this seasoned DJ – his all-nighter at London’s famous O2 arena was received by 20,000 strong. And the endorsements, the reason for many people’s love-hate relationship with him, just kept rolling in. Reebok, Armani Exchange, and Coca-Cola shelled out big bucks for Tiësto’s work, whether it’s artistic design (his line of Reeboks) or just Tiësto doing what he does best: making music.

Between the two Dutch DJs, they probably won enough awards this past year to stuff a trophy case – they have both been recognized (repeatedly) for their immense success both in their homeland of Holland, and of course, on the global stage. Is it any surprise that Armin and Tijs have taken over DJMag too?

Going Up
Number three DJ Paul van Dyk has had a fine year himself – his studio album, In Between, is a dance masterpiece, and has the sales records to prove it. He is one of the few DJs who are loved by North American clubbers (almost) as much as European fans, with one of his shows in New York being forced to move to a larger venue to fit all of the rabid fans. Further along the trance-heavy top 10 DJs, Above & Beyond’s star just keeps getting brighter. Their first show of 2008 drew a million in Rio, and the trio further invaded Asia and Ibiza with their unique sound, which is getting more notice, along with their rapidly growing Anjunabeats label.

The top house DJ (again), David Guetta jumps up five spots to sit pretty at number five. His Brazil gig this year topped even Above & Beyond’s, with two million in the crowd, and if you look at what he’s accomplished this year, that five-spot jump in the rankings should make total sense. DJMag did some number-crunching, and here are the results. Two million albums, three million singles. Billboard Top 10 for all four singles off of Pop Life. Massive shows at the Unighted Party, Love Parade, Bahia Carnival, Queensday, Techno Parade, and Global Gathering, and 180 club gigs this year (don’t even try counting how many people he’s played for). Maybe David Guetta should be higher on the list?

Rounding up the DJs who have moved on up on the list this year are Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz. Oh look, more trance. Ferry has had a big year with productions; his latest single, “Radio Crash,” has received much love from trance DJs like Armin and Judge Jules, and he’s also recruited some promising protégés for his label, Flashover. On the other hand, Markus Schulz has been keeping busy with jet-hopping between Europe and North America. He’s been big in Ibiza, like so many in the Top 10, and also has a residency at London’s Ministry of Sound. Wonder how many Airmiles he’s racked up?

Sliding
Partners Sasha and John Digweed are sliding down the polls together (Digweed with a larger six-spot drop), but this is not to say that 2008 hasn’t been a great year for them. Their little reunion tour around the US notwithstanding, the big news with Sasha this year has mostly been Invol2ver, a compilation album inspired by the sounds of New York City, and for DIgweed, travelling has been his thing lately, from the Land Down Under to Asia – he’ll be finishing off the year in South America.

Finishing off the Top 10 with a unique psy-trance sound is Infected Mushroom. They haven’t played many gigs this year, but it hasn’t slowed them down. Infected Mushroom made its first appearance at Ibiza to sold-out crowds, and is also busy injecting its blend of metal and dance into the US, while getting some much appreciated help from Paul Oakenfold. How many spots could Infected Mushroom have risen if Erez and Amit had actually done some touring?

BPM Festival Returns to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
January 2-11, 2009

Escape the winter doldrums with the 2nd Annual BPM Festival as it descends upon the stunningly beautiful Playa Del Carmen in Mexico on January 2nd - January 11th, 2009. This year’s festival has been extended into a full 10 day affair with a roster of first class international DJs and world class talent performing on the Mayan Riviera.

Youtube Video of BPM Festival Playa Del Carmen:

The festival’s second installment will commence January 2nd 2009 and run through January 11th 2009. Initially conceived as an exclusive networking event for nightlife professionals from around the world, the festival is now a clubber’s xanadu in the number one destination for beach and eco tourism in the heart of the Mexican Caribbean.

BPM Festival Co-producer and Circa Director Craig Pettigrew says, “We’re excited to return to Playa del Carmen for the 2nd year with our team of nightlife professionals. The festival provides the perfect escape after the clubbing industry’s busiest season and a welcome respite from the cold. With its numerous nightclubs and beautiful pristine beaches, Playa del Carmen is the newest ‘IT’ destination for global clubbing.”

With the extended dates, the BPM Festival 2009 will feature even more top-flight international artists than last year. The daytime beach party sessions will kick off each day with a world-class line-up. At night, the stunning lineup of Artists confirmed so far include; Get Physical’s two-headed beast M.A.N.D.Y., flying Dutchman SANDER KLEINENBERG, the “King of Space” STEVE LAWLER, getting weirder by the minute LEE BURRIDGE, Crosstown Rebels head honcho DAMIAN LAZARUS, Spanish house heartthrob PABLO CEBALLOS [of Chus & Ceballos] and Toronto’s rising star SEAN MILLER, alongside an ever-expanding line up to be announced over the coming months. Also, Circa residents DOMAN+PETTIGREW will be performing at an exotic underground cave party for a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Playa del Carmen is a stunningly beautiful, vibrant part of the Mayan Riviera, located on the pristine Caribbean coast of Mexico. Blessed with miles of unspoiled white sand beaches and crystal-clear Caribbean waters, Playa del Carmen offers an unforgettable time and endless adventures. Filled with a variety of beautiful and affordable boutique hotels and nightclubs, an endless number of places for dining, dancing, beach parties, and clubbing; without a doubt Playa del Carmen has the best ambiance throughout all the Caribbean.

After years of pounding at the backstage door, it’s pretty much official: dance music is the new punk rock. CBGBs is no more, and guitars are swiftly being eclipsed by laptops, but the DIY aesthetic is alive and well. So it’s only fitting that the future of American dance music should emerge in the form of two New England Art Institute grads, Josh Shifrin and Paul Mihailoff, who left behind their punk rock and hip-hop pasts to form Plus Move, an electronic act obsessed with the future. And for good reason - they’ve been there.

“It’s kind of weird how we got into this,” Mihailoff admits, recalling a time back in Boston before they learned the art of time travel. Both he and Shifrin were playing in rock bands, with their only common thread was a shared interest in Radiohead. “I was actually into producing hip-hop beats when we first met, and I threw Daft Punk in the same category as the bland, repetitive, four-on-the-floor stuff that I couldn’t get into. But once I understood the energy behind it, I started listening to all the other French producers.”

Plus Move got everyone’s attention when they leaked their bootleg remix of Justice’s funk-squelch anthem “D.A.N.C.E” to some of their favorite music blogs back in the summer of 2007. “We first heard the song as a radio rip,” Shifrin recalls. “It wasn’t even the full song or the final version, but we fell in love with it and immediately chopped the shit out of the track to get rid of the radio noise, re-worked it completely and sent it back out to every blog that we liked. Before we knew it, we were getting emails from people all over the world.”

One of those emails got their attention more than the other messages from crazed fans. It was an anonymous invitation to a meeting in a basement underneath M.I.T., just minutes from the Plus Move studio. Shifrin and Mihailoff are reluctant to reveal specifics, but the story goes that they were introduced to someone they refer to cryptically as “Sphinx.” When asked if “Sphinx” is the mythical being described in Egyptian and Greek mythology, Plus Move boldly puts forth that Sphinx “has taken many different forms throughout time.”

The next part of the story may be even less credible, yet the recordings that make up the “2099” EP are presented for your consideration. Plus Move claim to have traveled through time with Sphinx to the year 2099, where together they defeated the evil ruler BOSS. In the ensuing days spent in 2099, Plus Move and Sphinx recorded these songs and brought them back to the present day as documented proof of their travels.

The cool heads at Expansion Team Records, for whom the duo had previously remixed a Ready Fire Aim track, immediately took notice of the change in Shifrin and Mihailoff’s disposition. The “2099” recordings shifted and morphed with more unpredictable dynamics than a multi-car pileup, equal parts apocalypse and apotheosis in the mix. Label boss and fellow futurist Alex Moulton lent his ear to the music, helping co-produce the songs to make them understandable to early-21st century ears.

Plus Move recently relocated to Austin, Texas, a move necessitated by the need for physical space to assemble their next secret project. The duo are reportedly building a structure they believe is a time machine that allows for hundreds (if not thousands) of fans to join them on their subsequent journeys to the future. How’s that for DIY?

2099 is out now digitally on Expansion Team Records.

Inspired by the beautiful island of Ibiza, the first seconds of this mix can be described by the words “exotic escape.” With a groove that’s not so slow as to make you fall asleep, and not so fast that it takes you out of a relaxed, feel-good state,

Stereo Island will probably be a better candidate for chill parties than it would be for the gym (but hey, if you like working out to this, be our guest).

This mix is aptly-named - there are little flourishes of brass instruments, clean and simple synths, and a beat that’s just inviting you to daydream about a day on the beaches of a secluded island.

The dreaminess of the first part of the mix gradually builds a little bit with some proggy synths, but it is never lost and it never takes away from the island feel of the music.

Throughout the mix, DJ Deep Spelle experiments with different synth effects, beats, and vocals to create a sound that aspires to musically capture every aspect of the perfect island. Sultry or sunny, no matter what your dream oasis is like, you will hear the sound for it. Find your Stereo Island now.

Listen Now - Back to the Beach

Missing summer already? Feel like you’re back at the beach with DJ Fiesta’s new mix.

This summer mix starts you off with “La Serenada”, a sunny house track, and the Latino vibe carries on in DJ Chick’s “Colombian Carnival” - Fiesta’s not kidding when he says he wants to take you back to the beach. “Suave” takes it higher with echoing synths, but it comes right back down with “When the Sun Comes Down,” which is a bit darker and makes for a nice balance.

“Porto Hustle” by house master Chris Montana makes for a unique sound with its chopped up vocals but smooth synth loop, and if you haven’t gotten it yet, DJ Fiesta loves that Latin sound. “El Mariachi” by Antonio Banderas (yes, the guy who played Zorro) is as Spanish as you can get, with signature flamenco guitar and sweet Spanish lyrics, all bathed in House goodness. Next up is “Tell Me,” a vocal-heavy track that bleeds into “Libido,” which has some sexy synths.

Kid Massive switches it up with the very progressive-sounding “Get Busy,” and the startling transition between it and the way more subdued “Mr. Cokesniffa” just seems to pass you by - until two seconds later you suddenly sit up straighter and go, “What?” In contrast , this song blends so easily into “Take Me There,” you might not even be able to tell at first where exactly the song changes. The finale, “So Many Times,” ends off with a bang: melodies and synth textures that just scream summer. Get away from the rain and Back to the Beach.

Tracklisting:
2. DJ Chick - Colombian Carnival
3. Chris Reece - Suave

Listen Now - Bring That Beat Back

After a few months of hibernation, DJ Seta’s back with a kickass mix.

Bring That Beat Back is an hour of House goodness that features tracks like Akon’s summer hit “Dangerous,” Fragma’s “Memory,” and a personal favourite, the Radio Edit of “Summer Night” by Supersonik.

Starting off with an electro mix of Akon and Kardy’s track, which will still be recognized by a lot of people, DJ Seta drifts easily into Missy May, which will get everyone jumpin’ and shakin’. It transitions into “Gnor,” which at first listen is probably best described as a kind of creepy mosquito-sounding track (confused? Don’t be… just listen to it), and then into a “Secret Lover” remix, which raises the energy up a bit from Gnor.

Melting into “Dumb Party” and “Informer,” the mix switches up the sound (gets a bit techier), and it’s a welcome change, especially as you realize that you’re halfway through the mix and still haven’t gotten bored yet. R.I.O is up next with some Latin flavour, and we get to one of the melodic and vocal highlights, Summer Night.

To put it simply, the edit that DJ Seta uses is just sublime. “Peace and Love” manages to keep up the beat, and though “Kuku” may be one of the more forgettable phases in this mix, but it definitely ends on a high note with a soaring Fragma piece, and finally, “Stay DJ (Pitchugin Da Green Remix)” by House master David Guetta.

After having taken a long break, DJ Seta returns to offer a blazing mix with a range of sounds that can take you through the day (and night), from your morning commute, to work or school, to just chilling at home.

Having spent the year tirelessly touring the globe, Booka Shade return with ‘Sweet Lies’ - the third single to be taken from their acclaimed album, The Sun & The Neon Light.

At its core, ‘Sweet Lies‘ is an emotive, slightly melancholic song about escaping real life by getting lost in nightlife. Booka Shade’s ‘Easy Way Out’ mix is one long, compelling reason to do exactly that.

Patrice Bäumel furnishes his label bosses with a thrilling remix that aims for the dancefloor but also celebrates the song-form at the heart of it.

Meanwhile, Matthias Tanzmann offers a tough, percussive techno rework, taking minimal elements from the original track and massaging them into maximum effect.

Booka Shade’s ‘Bitter Truth’ mix is an altogether darker reimagining of ‘Sweet Lies’ than the ‘Easy Way Out’ version. A menacing, seductive synth melody bends in and out of focus, set against crunching, crowd-moving chords and teasing vocals.

Saturday November 29th, 2008 at the Paradox in Baltimore, MD
9pm to 6am

I am still fairly new to the east coast, but the moment I saw the flyer for AND THEN THERE WAS, I knew it was a must attend event. I’ve heard about the infamous FEVER parties held at the Paradox on Thursday nights and that alone was enough to whet my party appetite. This venue was at the frontier of the EDM music scene throughout the 90’s and still proves to be rockin.

AND THEN THERE WAS is brought to you by Steez Promo, in association with Ultraworld, Charles Feelgood, Starscape, and Human Imprint. This fall massive event will unfold across a 13,000 square foot converted warehouse, featuring three areas of music with two indoor dance floors and a tented and heated outdoor area. With a whopping headline of hard-hitting old skool and new skool acts like Charles Feelgood, Simply Jeff, Dieselboy, Evol Intent, Infiltrata, and Pnuma, it’s sure to be a hit. Did I mention this event is also BYOB! Cha-ching!

This is an addictive track from Cevin and ex-Dirty Vegas (maybe you’ve heard of theM?) Paul Harris, made even better by Seamus Haji’s remix. The beat pulses subtly throughout, and the repetitive chant for deliverance - trust me, you’ll hear it and you’ll love it - works with the synths to create a sort of hypnotic tribal chant (only in terms of subject matter though; if you’re looking for an actual tribal dance track, you’ll have to look elsewhere).

Paul Harris DJ/rRoducer Biography:
The word ‘crossover’ could have been invented for DJ/producer/remixer Paul Harris. The Grammy-winning artist (with global dancestars Dirty Vegas) is as at home DJing and producing for underground clubs as he is playing at fashion shows for the likes of Julien Mcdonald and Hugo Boss. And while tracks like Baditude (with Dave Spoon and Sam Obernik) regularly land plaudits such as Essential New Tune on Pete Tong’s show, Harris is also the go-to guy for mainstream artists from Kylie (songwriting and production) to Justin Timberlake and Madonna (remix duties – Dirty Vegas’ mix of Die Another Die was used in the Bond film).

It’s all the same to South Londoner Harris, who with characteristic ‘down to earth’ aplomb says: “it doesn’t matter if it’s Madonna dancing next to you or Joe Bloggs, they all just want to have a good time”. Harris started his working life aged 16 as an Assistant Trader in the city, but making it to work for 6am after clubbing til 4am was no fun, so he bought a set of decks and committed to his first love - music. His first DJ break came aged 17, with a weekly set playing what was then known as ‘Balearic Beats’ (roughly translated to anything he fancied.) Before long, his residencies grew to include the legendary Milk Bar in London, Ministry of Sound and many others around the country, with guest spots at the halcyon clubbing spots of the time – Venus in Nottingham, the super glam Miss Moneypennys, Cream and Golden.

If you like Bob Sinclar’s brand of easy house, you’re going to love a lot of the tracks on his new release: House Masters - Bob Sinclar. Being a Frenchman, Bob Sinclar lets you into the vibe of the famous and prestigious Champs-Elysees avenue that is in many ways the heart of Paris. This tune is as much of a dancing song as it is a beat that you can just lean back and listen to to get away from everyday noise. A unique break from the usual progressive and tech.

Bob Sinclar Biography:
A taxi in Tel Aviv, a restaurant by the sea in Madagascar, a coach station in Bombay, a new-age bar on Venice Beach, a club in Paris, New York or Ibiza… one tune rings out from them all: Love Generation, played over and over, tirelessly. It was with this incredibly catchy tune that Bob Sinclar had one of the biggest hits of 2005, proving - if there was any doubt - his talent for making great music with no boundaries of age or race.

Chris has been putting his numerous skills to use in a variety of domains for fifteen years now; as a DJ, founder and manager of the Yellow label, popular remixer and sought-after producer, the music he releases under the Bob Sinclar moniker is more than just shallow house fluff destined only for the dancefloor.

The idea behind Bob Sinclar is completely the opposite. His priorities are focused on bringing people together and encouraging them enjoy themselves. Ever since Chris created his doppelganger in 1997, the worldwide hits have just kept coming: Gym Tonic, My Only Love, Feel For You, The Beat Goes On, Kiss My Eyes… They’ve even become too numerous to count. However, rather than just being content to make people dance, Chris’ upbringing in Paris, his love of hip-hop and his experiences spinning at Les Bains and Le Palace during the early years of house have inspired him to make music with hope and energy, music to be shared.

He freely admits that any professional DJ should cherish these sorts of values, and yet it seems that much of the house being released in Europe seems to forget them. The vast majority of records have no aspirations beyond getting played in as many international clubs as possible.

In this respect, Bob Sinclar has definitively set himself aside from his peers. Of course he can’t deny his past of unashamedly hedonistic tracks such as Gym Tonic, a huge hit and one of the defining records of what became known as the French Touch. But in 1998 he deftly moved away from filtered house to a more ambitious music, refining his style with each new release. In 2000 came his album Champs-Élysées and a project with disco legend Cerrone that earned him a gold disc. Then his meeting with collaborators Lene Lovich and Alain Wisniak pushed him to take his music in a different, more adventurous direction, with intricate arrangements and an electro disco feel. A breakthrough came with the III album, an ambitious endeavour stuffed full of giant hits (The Beat Goes On, Nature Boy and Kiss My Eyes). And who could forget the Africanism project or the stellar production on Outro Lugar sung by Brazilian Salomé de Bahia.

Then came the tidal wave of Love Generation, with 1.2 million singles sold in a few months, making it forever the hymn of an entire generation. Another two Bob Sinclar tracks from the Western Dream album - his fourth - were to go on to be hits around the globe: World, Hold On and Rock this Party.

Although he’s obviously prolific and talented, Chris is above all a passionate artist trying to push his own boundaries with every new record. As he readily admits, without a hint of false modesty, he always saw himself as someone who would create, following a certain American tradition of artists that make quality music aimed nonetheless at the masses, someone who is always looking to do the unexpected, surprising his fans and earning their admiration.

With Love Generation and the Western Dream album, Bob Sinclar attained one of these principle objectives; making music that is both sophisticated and popular, house music that is equal parts glamour, pop and sexy. His sound was both warm and direct. And it made its mark on the era.

At last, in what can only be described as a tour de force, the DJ had released a collection of melodic songs “for living”. Catchy little songs to whilst or hum, songs that stayed with you, calmed you or took you to another place, whether you were on a dancefloor or in your living room, sat in the car or hooked up to your iPod. Pop music, no more no less, in the noblest sense of the term.

After such an epic ‘odyssey’, you’d be excused for thinking that Bob Sinclar would be ready to take a break, but you’d be wrong. His passion and drive still feed his desire for new projects to move people.

Before starting the adventure of a new album, and before setting off on a worldwide club tour this Summer, Sinclar has decided to offer a gift to his fans: Soundz of Freedom, a lavish mixed compilation, dripping with new tracks, massive hits and extra special bonuses.

This release isn’t a break or the end of a chapter. Nor is it a simple list of the steps that led him to where he is now. Chris doesn’t like dwelling on the past. When he does, it’s only so he can get back in touch with the music that he has loved since the start, since the late eighties when he was still known as Chris The French Kiss.

Soundz of Freedom has fourteen tracks and unreleased remixes produced with Gary Pine, Steve Edwards Dollarman and Cutee B., plus unreleased remixes by Mousse T, Jamie Lewis, Axwell, Guy Schreiner and Erik Kupper. For each track, Sinclar personally contacted the remixers and chose the person whose sound he thought would be most in tune, giving each song a new twist. The result? Every track overflows with an amazing energy. Mixed skilfully together by Bob Sinclar, one listen is enough to convince you that this is an irresistible selection of amazing positive vibes.

To make this release even more luxurious and complete, Sinclar has also included a film of the mammoth 2006 tour which took him across the USA, Australia and China (to name a few), plus his best videos including those from the Western Dream album and the new video for Sound of Freedom, the first single from the project (accompanied by a making of documentary filmed in Jamaica).

Soundz of Freedom is a perfect summing up of the Sinclar sound, a testament to the talent of a DJ who became a popular artist. This mix is the musical passport of a music lover who attempts to quench his thirst for sharing, for love, for pleasure and for hope with every release.
