New from DJ Cata is an electro track with melodies that will blow your mind away. This classically trained, but electronically inspired Romanian DJ’s love of harmony is evident in this mix – you won’t forget the intoxicating “Ooh la la” anytime soon.

DJ Cata Biography:
I started to study music from first grade up to highschool and I followed the musical career – I’m currently studying Violin at the Brasov Conservatory, Romania and this summer I will get my degree in music.

My music knoledge is well based in the classical arts, and it tends to come alive in my electronic music that I’ve been making for about 9 years.

I currently act as a composer/producer, remixer, and DJ (lately rarely). I produce progressive & electro house and trance tracks, with various inflences like electro pop rock, underground tracks and so on. I absolutely love Royksopp, Telepop Music and lots of producers like Axwell, Max Graham, Eric Pryds and many, many more.

I always try to combine the latest trends in electronic music with my own stile, with my emotions and sources of inspitations. Thus the sounds are highly up-to-date digital, or old-school analog.

My tracks were first played by clubbing radio stations like Radio Deea, TC Radio an Australian-based radio station. I then acted as a DJ on Radio R and TC Radio, whom started to play my tracks. I Hosted the morning show on Radio R (currently offline I think). Entitled “Matinal cu DJ Cata” (Morning show with DJ Cata), it had 1 basic principle: Dance music on empty stomach. It also ranged with slow tracks, hip-hop and romanian songs.

The summer of 2007 was really busy for me. First I signed a track called “Sharp Attitude” to Emote Music (support by Andy moor and many others) and I made a couple of remixes, like “Kristi & Yoyo – Myway (DJCata Remix).

In the autumm, I signed another track with L8 Night Records called “Wow!” and I’m currently working on making a vocal short mix of it so it can be played on local commercial radios.
Fall 2007 I also remixed “Ugur Soygur – Overbias (DJCata Remix), that’s currently well received in the USA.

My mixing style is different from other DJs – they’re usually based on melody. When I mix, I try to make the songs come together on a harmonic level, meaning they have to have the same key and similar basic harmonic structure.
