George Cochrane releases new album The Key Is In The Lock
House Music
George Cochrane was born in Santa Cruz, California, surrounded by tall trees and sparkling ocean. Starting off as a long-haired metal bassist writing songs about devil worship, he wound his way through grunge, pop punk, classical and jazz before stumbling on electronic music in the late 90s. Needless to say, he fell quickly in love, and committed happily to it.
Releasing a string of house and instrumental hip hop records in a variety of guises and collaborations, he earned a reputation for edgy, intricately musical productions that laid waste to dance floors (and chillrooms). He soon became a regular on prominent compilations and the charts of innovative DJs.

Eventually missing the songwriting-heavy days of his past, George decided to lock himself in the studio with little more than a drumset, guitars, and a couple of keyboards. He finally emerged with the songs that made up his solo album The White Pinecone, from which this single was chosen. These days, George is working on a string of tech house singles with Andrew Phelan, a dubstep album with Cubik & Origami, and a new electro-pop solo record, tentatively titled “Music Is Optional”.
George has also received much critical acclaim for gems such as, “My Synthesizer Won’t Behave” and “Running Down”, on his hometown label Prismatic, who are based out of the same legendary Moulton studios in San Francisco as he is based himself.
