CHROMEO: Feel the Funk
Quebecois retro-electro duo Chromeo is made up of two musicians working under the aliases Dave-1 (David Macklovitch on guitar and lead vocals) and P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel on keyboards, synthesizers, and talk box.)  The two have been best friends since childhood and officially formed the band in 2002.  They have since described themselves as the only successful Arab/Jewish collaboration since the beginning of time.

Chromeo magically treads that line between funky and cheesy without going overboard.  By their own admission, Chromeo are neither original nor very cool, but they are 100% fun.

“I don’t care how people perceive us” says Dave-1 “the main thing about Chromeo is that you have fun to it and realize that it comes from a good place.”

Admitting to influences like Phil Collins and unspeakable all girl band Klymaxx, the Chromeo sound comprises of sleazy NYC funk, disco, hip hop and electric boogaloo, Euro electronica, and UK synthpop.  With three albums, seven hit singles, two compilations, and several worldwide special appearances – it’s definitely been confirmed that Chromeo can rock it.  Their third album, Fancier Footwork was recently released and Myspace Music is sponsoring an East Coast tour to promote it.  Check out the announced tour dates below!  Tickets are going extremely fast, so purchase yours today!

Ah yeah! These guys are doing it right. Was up front during their visit to Seattle. Dave 1 must have a proud mother. If only A-TRAK would release his US tour dates!!!
