deadmau5 for lack of a better name

Deadmau5 For Lack of A Better Name Review
Tech House Music

Just a few weeks ago we announced the release of Deadmau5’s latest album “For Lack of a Better Name” which has been topping the most downloaded lists all over the internet. Well now it’s time for us to give a full review of this killer album.

First track entitled “FML” is a raw and humble start to the compilation, filled with drumlines your anticipation grows for Deadmau5’s signature electro sounds. But the cool thing is that this track isn’t a cookie-cutter at all, almost a a downtempo feel leads you gloriously into the creepy fit-for-Halloween intro of “Moar Ghosts n Stuff”. This is a prelude for the out-of-body experience of track 3 – “Ghosts n Stuff” featuring the vocals of Rob Swire and is a true sentiment that Deadmau5 has made it as one of the best electronica producers/dj’s/prodigies of all time.

Here is the official music video of “Ghosts n Stuff”:

Deadmau5 continues to the album with another track you’ll hear just about everywhere right now – “Hi Friend!” which has a bumpin bassline and an old school style flavour all wrapped up into one. “Bot” & “Word Problems” follow with a very minimal tech house feel highlighted with slivers of uplifting soundwaves.

Bringing it back down the bpm’s are lowered with the piano sways of “Soma” a crystal clear melody that breaks away for the king of the album – “For Lack of a Better Name”. This track just takes you places, all you have to do is close your eyes and let your ears do the feeling.

Rounding off the final tracks with Deamau5 written all over it “The 16th Hour” speaks volumes beyond the music itself while “Strobe” has a serene welcoming feel to it that unites people from all races, sexes and cultures and all you can envision are crowds smiling and waving in the wind of the sounds pumping out of the speakers at any of Deadmau5’s concerts.

deadmau5 was very fun to watch live. the venue unfortunately wasn’t ideal and neither was the crowd (who didn’t really understand what it meant to clap or dance)
the music was brilliant, very enjoyable. and I appreciate watching/listening to electronic musicians playing live being an amateur (and aspiring great) one myself.
