Hey guys, I’m back again making my guest posts on this kick ass blog. This house music blog has managed to explode since the last time I posted so glad to hear the guys at thefreshpage are making waves in the industry with all their hard work.

Nevertheless, lets get right to it as ResidentAdvisor.net has broken the news that Mark Farina will be mixing Fabric 40 release for one of the most respectable UK labels - Fabric Records. Mark Farina’s last release Live in Tokyo was quite a hit and his tour sold out massive venues across North America. Have a look at this clip of Mark Farina Live in Tokyo Tour at Vancouver’s famous Commodore Ballroom. Although Fabric releases have focused primarily on European talent, the series is no stranger to west coast house as Fabric 10 was magically spun by the legendary Doc Martin.

It will be interesting to see if Mark Farina takes a step out of his comfort zone and tries something different as his last few releases have focused so strongly on OM artists (one of the labels he represents). Undoubtedly his creation will focus on west coast jazzy house, however Farina has the opportunity here to give it a different spin so that he can make some sort of world wide come back since his climax of popularity with the Mushroom Jazz series.


So I ask you out there who are perhaps producers of music, has Mark Farina really pushed the envelope with his previous releases that past several years? Perhaps it is something that I have missed out on but I believe that Mark Farina is one talented artist who if pushed can bring on another revolution of a different kind of sound. Anyone heard of electro jazz???

Fabric 40 will be released to FabricFirst members on May 5th, and worldwide on May 12th (June 10th - US).
