Music Festivals – Multiple Choice
If you’re in the Northeast United States this weekend, you may be in luck! It seems like summer music festivals are becoming all the rage, and who would want to turn down fun in the sun with some of your favorite artists? I give you a last minute Plan A and Plan B for your aural pleasure. Which appeals most to you? Find out after the jump.

Plan A:
All Points West Music & Arts Festival
Liberty State Park, Jersey City, New Jersey
Friday, August 8th – Sunday, August 10th

The All Points West Music & Arts Festival begins today and is a three-day, multi-stage music and arts festival at Liberty State Park in New Jersey. Dubbed by some as the “Coachella of the East Coast,” this first annual festival has some pretty big shoes to fill.  Liberty State Park is a historic location offering panoramic views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the Manhattan skyline. All Points West was chosen as the name for the festival because immigrants who came to Ellis Island would go to the Central Railroad of New Jersey terminal (which is still on Liberty State Park’s grounds) and then board trains for ‘all points west.’ In keeping with the theme, the stages will be named after trains – Blue Comet (main stage), Bullet and Queen of the Valley.

Radiohead makes me happy. However, I was definitely disappointed to see the lack of electronic acts and DJs this year. Hopefuly, they don’t make the same mistake at the sophomore festival! Peep the set times below.

A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit “Friends of Liberty State Park.” The Friends of Liberty State Park is an open space advocacy volunteer organization dedicated to the park’s future as a free, green and non-commercial, urban waterfront oasis.

Head on over to Baltimore and rock out all weekend long at this festival on 140 acres. Virgin Mobile Festival is a spin-off from the V Festival held in the UK. Enjoy three stages lined with LED video walls and armed with line array sound, dork out to the art installations, be dazzled by various performance artists, and watch out for lighting bolts from the tesla coil. I’m personally drooling over the line-up at the Dance Tent! Check it out below.
