Winter Music Conference 2009
Tuesday, March 24th to Saturday, March 28th, 2009
Miami Beach Resort & Spa

Established in 1985, Winter Music Conference (WMC) is the largest dance music industry convention in the world. Now in its 24th year, WMC attracts over 3,000 industry delegates from over 70 different countries and hosts more than 500 events during its week-long takeover of Miami Beach. With over 2,000 artists in attendance, this is definitely the HOT SPOT to be for club-music lovers everywhere. In a nutshell: WMC is the only place you can hear every major dance-music act in the world at the same time = HEAVEN! Whether you are into house, drum ‘n’ bass, trance, techno, hip-hop, trip-hop, chill out or electro, WMC has plenty for you to enjoy. Not to mention the beautiful weather…

One of the most impressive and enjoyable facets of Winter Music Conference is the union of industry peeps (executives, press, A&R reps, etc.), artists and DJs getting down on the dance floor and rubbing elbows at the bar. Whether you are there to simply enjoy the music or are on a mission to break out and promote yourself, WMC offers limitless opportunities to network:  various workshops, DJ and performance stages, the DJ Spin Off, the Record Collectors Show, various artist showcases, release parties, hotel soirees, beach blowouts, etc.

Two events that are definitely NOT to be missed are the International Dance Music Awards and Ultra Music Festival

WMC presents the 23rd annual International Dance Music Awards on Thursday, March 26th, 2009.

Ultra Music Festival, the official closing event for WMC, will take place on Friday, March 27th and Saturday, March 28th. The initial line-up for the first night of the festival includes Miami exclusive performances from:  Tiësto, Bloc Party, The Ting Tings, Santogold and – making their first US appearance as a full band in seven years – DnB legends Roni Size Reprazent.  Miami exclusive artists confirmed for the second night of the festival include:  Cut Copy, Deadmau5, Crystal Castles, The Presets, Hercules and Love Affair, Simian Mobile Disco, Busy P, and Carl Cox.

Is Tiesto performing in WMC 2009 besides at ULTRA? He has been at mansion every year for the past 3 years but no word yet if he is going to have a solo performance.
