Last night in Vancouver, Lisa Shaw and Miguel Migs came into town to bring something new (and perhaps something old) to the house music scene. Petalpusher consists of the 8 piece band with Miguel Migs on electric guitar, along with Lisa Shaw and Tim Fuller singing their hearts out. In fact, Petalpusher has been around for quite some time originating from the roots of Miguel Migs musical background, but in an era when electronic music meets live band (take Justice, Booka Shade and Trentemoller as examples) it’s time to push the scene to new levels. No longer is it enough to be a DJ who can just remix others tracks, don’t you agree that now a days the audience wants something more?
Well if you haven’t heard Lisa Shaw belt it out, then you’ve got something juicy to experience! Her sultry vocals are dead on every single time and she can give the best of the best a run for their money when it comes to performing live. Compliment her with the dry yet colorful vocals of Tim Fuller and a full band including Miguel Migs and you definitely have something magical to reminisce about.
It will be quite interesting to see where the scene will take them, but it has been confirmed that Miguel Migs and Lisa Shaw will be performing at one of the most exciting festivals I’ve heard about to date - the Exit Festival 2008 in Serbia held at an old fortress along with hundreds of other big acts in front of tens of thousands of Europeans connected through music.
Here is a quick and dirty video clip of Petalpusher in Vancouver. Sorry for the poor quality, but if you can help with adding higher quality video clips please send me a message!
Have any of you out there experienced Petalpusher yet? Would like to hear your thoughts, leave your comments below hey?!
