Want to get the word out that Sonar got so hot this weekend for DJ Dan that one of my buddies got heat stroke.  The dance floor was enclosed with all the side doors and even though he was drinking water he got too hot and we had to rush him to the hospital.  This is simply unacceptable and we are very upset about the matter.   The worst thing is that this is not the only place that gets so hot, lately a lot of other venues are turning up the heat to raise liquor sales.

That's too bad man, hopefully your friend is ok now?  That exact same reason was what prevented my friends and I from going...

i'd like to add the waldorf to the list of venues that get much much much too hot. i think by keeping the  temperature up they are actually losing in sales. if its too hot people don't have fun so whats the point of buying alchahol and wasting money to get drunk if your already not having fun. as well when the temperature is soo hot people don't dance or get into it as much as they would if it was a managable temperature so it limits the excitement of the shows. promoters and venues need to quit ignoring this situation. ive started threads about it before and ive seen threads about it on numerous other sites.

Totally agree with you about Waldorf Shorty.  I've posted on other sites about the heat situation as well but people attack me or those starting those kind of posts saying that we are bitching.  But you're right, no one is really going to get it until someone passes away from heat stroke or something.  Then they'll say "I told you so" and take back everything they said!  Overall though the Vancouver scene is very friendly and goes off, just wish some of the owners of these venues would take a look at the heat situation, because everything else is pretty awesome!

Heard from the promoters that they were going to try to work on this for the BadBoyBill show so I went to check it out and in fact there did seem to be a major difference since they had the side walls open up.  It still got warm, but this time around there was definitely some relief.  Good to hear that the promoters of Vivid Sessions care about their crowd.
