Here's an interesting review we got that doesn't really fit into the Fresh Lounge as it's not really electronic music related, but we thought you might like to read. The reviewer for this night is Klicks.

Fetish Night at the Lotus Hotel.


Tired of the same old scene. hot women who look like Barbie but are not interested in giving most  mortal men the time of day. Men who look like Conan but have the same IQ as James Bonds number. (7 for those who don't get out much) Well if its time for a change. how about a club full of 25+   wild and crazy open minded party animals.  The Club is the Lotus and the night is the last Saturday of each month.  The function BODY PERVE.  Vancouver's oldest Fetish night. I was a little skeptical to say the least.  Though I am pretty open to most things in life and my motto of "anything once" has served me well, this was a walk on the side of life I have not spent much time with.  

First and most importantly you must have a costume. by costume I mean leather, PVC, latex, vinyl, uniform, formal wear, sexy anything or a lot of old fashion skin.  The crowd is an off beat blend of gay and straight, sexy and scary, bold and outrageous.  But and I cannot stress this too much, it is a very friendly crowd.  The last time I talked to as many people as I did Saturday night, I was an MC at a wedding.   For the first time in along time, everyone I asked to dance said yes and we had a great time. ( and yes, some of these ladies are virtually naked but then hey, so was I )

The Venue:  The Lotus hotel is a great underground style of club. The décor is Spartan and if you need a window to see outside this is not the place for you.  If you love the smell of a well used bar, then you might like this place.  The Body Perve night is held downstairs in the main dance club.  It is dark and dingy and perfect for a fetish night.  
A lot of patrons bring a bag or pack and change there, so the coat check looked like a baggage area at the airport.  The staff is very friendly and I am sure have a blast on Body Perve night.

The music:  Not your normal night of house music at the Lotus.  It was a fun blend that appealed to virtually everyone.  80's, House, Hip Hop and some Pop were the styles played to a packed dance floor.  The floor is medium size and there is a small area with a fan if you need to cool off.  

If you want to have fun and are not just saying you want to have fun but really mean it, check out fetish night. You don't have to go wild with a costume, I was able to throw one together with a little help from some friends and a visit to the good will store.  The crowd is what makes this night fun and I can hardly wait to go again.  I would recommend this evening to any 25+ clubber who has an open mind and likes to live a little on the dark and dangerous side.  5 stars on this one *****

PS there is a fair bit of nudity and suggestive adult situations on this night so don't bring your mother.  (unless your mom is into leather and whips)
